The Base typeface was developed for use with the Atomic editorial and exhibition. The typeface was inspired by utilitarian style types that are used in analogue applications and are immediate forms of communication. If anyone survives the apocalypse, what means would they have to deliver messages and signal the new order? They may turn to something physical, robust and direct – something functional that promises nothing.
